Staff recruiting starts at the end of the summer as we hope to bring some of the staff back for another year. CAMP ALLEN would not be able to offer the life changing experience that has affected countless lives without volunteers. If you or your church can help in any way, please contact us. there are countless jobs that need doing. If you need a project for your group to do, CAMP ALLEN needs your help.

CAMP ALLEN is a place for everyone, but most of all, it has always been a place for children. This camp must be a safe haven, a place of rest and acceptance, and a place to find God's love for every child that steps onto the property. This is the right thing, this is the needed thing, this is the thing God would have us do. This is the type of people God would have us to be. We need to make every effort to offer that opportunity to every child that would like to come to CAMP ALLEN. Let them find fun, fellowship, and friends, but most of all- let them find salvation and safety in Jesus' name. If you need more information or need someone to talk about CAMP ALLEN, give us a call.

Gunnels/Winberry Memorial Scholarship

In Memory of:
Ricky W. Gunnels, Jr. and Marlis Winberry
In Honor of: Howard Winberry

The Gunnels/Winberry Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship formed in memory of Ricky W. Gunnels, Jr./Marlis Winberry and in honor of Howard Winberry.

The purpose of this scholarship is to send eligible campers to church camp from third grade through Senior High for a week of Christian camping. This will enable a child/teen to go to camp for a week out of the summer who otherwise may not be able to go. This scholarship is made possible by contributions and donations from individuals to Southern Missouri Bank & Trust in which can be given directly to any branch or sent to Sonya Gunnels. This will be an annual scholarship beginning with the year 2000 Senior High Camp at Camp Allen.

The following provisions shall govern this scholarship:

• 1. The scholarship shall be an annual scholarship presented to Camp Allen Campers.
  2. The scholarship shall be made known to the camper before their designated camp date mentioned on their application.
• 3. The scholarship recipient is selected by a committee consisting of Sonya Gunnels, Vickie Shipman, Howard Winberry, and Brian Cook for the. The scholarship recipient will be selected based on need and the recommendation given from Pastor/Youth Pastor’s comments.
• 4. The goal of this scholarship is to allow as many recipients to be chosen as funds allow. This will be available to campers of the Senior High, Junior High, Junior II, and Junior I camps.
• 5. The scholarship principal shall be deposited in The Southern Missouri Bank And Trust of the scholarship committee’s choice to acquire the highest possible rate of return that is secured by federal and state law
